Greetings, It’s the time of year again where the Florida Institute for Child Welfare (FICW) recognizes child welfare professionals for the important, yet often challenging, work that they do every day to help children and families thrive. This year, the FICW is hosting a symposium on Supporting our Foster Youth and Young Adults for a Successful Future. For their second annual Child Welfare Professional of the Year award, the FICW is requesting nominations from colleagues, supervisors, partner providers, and family members for a child welfare professional who exemplifies supporting foster youth and young adults transitioning into or currently in independent living. The nominee can work for DCF, a community-based care lead agency, or a contracted provider. There are five categories: Case Manager, Case Manager Supervisor, Child Protective Investigator, Child Protective Investigator Supervisor, and Specialist. The Specialist can be an attorney, GAL, clinician or other role related to providing services to child welfare involved families. Please also share this with your respective RMD’s. Please submit your nomination by March 22, 2020.
The winners will be announced April 16, 2020 and will be formally presented at the Institute’s virtual symposium on May 26, 2021.
